Round 2 Battle Underway

After completing a first round MHL Playoff victory over the Yarmouth Mariners, the Wildcats are locked into a fierce battle with the Truro Bearcats as round 2 continues in the quest to capture the Canadian Tire Cup.

Coming into Thursday April 14 the Wildcats are set to host game four, where Truro holds the 2-1 series lead in no small part to the outstanding play in goal of their number one Maverick Goyer.  He holds a 6-2-0 record in this year’s playoff run and posts a 2.17 GAA with a .933 SV%.  But not to be outshone at the other end is Wildcats goaltender Antoine Lyonnais who has  been spectacular in posting a whopping 330 saves over 9 games, leading all playoff goalies in this category.  He also has an excellent 2.12 GAA along with a .943 SV% to go alongside his 5-3-1 playoff record thus far.

The story of the playoffs offensively to this point for the Wildcats has been the production from Ethan Kearney who is second in MHL Playoff goals scored, posting six so far on the campaign.  Both Kearney and team captain Luke Wilson are both in the top ten in total points scored for the playoffs as well.

Game 4 puck drop goes at 7pm Thursday April 14 at the Kings Mutual Century Centre in Berwick.  The following series schedule will be as follows:

Game 5 Saturday April 16 @ Truro 7pm
