TRADE: Wildcats Acquire Three Players, 1st Round Draft Pick from Campbellton

The Bage Valley Wildcats have completed a major transaction, acquiring forward Sam Hope, defenceman Carter Morrison, the rights to defenceman Sam Trenholm, a 2027 1st Round Draft Pick, and Player Development Fees from the Campbellton Tigers in exchange for forwards Caleb MacDonald & Victor Lanoue.

Sam Hope, a 19-year-old forward from Yarmouth, NS joins the Wildcats in this his third season in the MHL. Hope spent the majority of last season with the Tigers, producing 38 points in 47 regular season games played, along with six points in 10 playoff games. This season, Hope has suited up for 22 games with the Tigers, producing 18 points in those 22 games.

Morrison is no stranger to the Valley, after spending two years at King’s Edgehill between 2022-2024. Last season, Morrison made the jump to the MHL with the Tigers, suiting up in 49 regular season and eight games and putting up 11 points. The 19-year-old is close to returning from an injury sustained early this 2025-26 season.

The Wildcats also acquired the rights to 17-year-old defenceman Sam Trenholm, who is currently in his third year of U18, playing for the Cape Breton West Islanders. The Port Hood, NS native was a recent draft pick by Campbellton, selected 71st overall in this past 2025 MHL Entry Draft.

We’d like to thank Caleb MacDonald for the past year spent with the Wildcats, and his positive impact within the Annapolis Valley community. Best of luck to both Caleb and Victor with the Tigers.
