Wildcats Name Ethan Landry as Assistant & Video Coach

The Valley Wildcats are extremely excited to announce the hiring of former Wildcat co-captain Ethan Landry as Assistant Coach & Video Coach.

After a minor hockey career with the Halifax Hawks, Ethan joined the Halifax McDonald’s U18 Major program in 2017. In 31 games played with the McDonald’s, Landry tallied 36 points, and was named to the Rookie All-Star team.
Landry then went on to play two years of prep school hockey with the St. Andrew’s College Saints, one of the top prep schools in North America, known for producing NCAA D1 and professional talent. After his senior year, Ethan was selected first overall in the MHL draft by the Wildcats in 2020. In his first year with the team, he was a frequent call-up for the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL. He played seven games with the Mooseheads, which includes a two goal game performance against the Charlottetown Islanders. Landry played three seasons with the Wildcats, finishing his career as a co-captain and the team’s leading scorer. In the three seasons with the Wildcats, Landry ranks 7th in all-time points (93) and 9th in all-time games played (120).  Ethan also volunteered in the second half of this year’s season, working as a video coach with a focus on special teams.
“I’m very excited to work more closely with the team. The Valley is a first class organization, and I am incredibly thankful for the opportunities and experiences I had in my three years playing here. There is a bright future ahead with this team. I look forward to working with Brandon and the rest of the coaching staff, as well as getting to know the players more closely as the season approaches.” Landry says.
Head Coach & General Manager Brandon Benedict is also excited about the hire. “We’re really excited to add Ethan to our staff. As a captain two seasons ago, he brings a lot of leadership to the table, as well as experience as both player and coach having helped as an assistant coach during the second half of last season. Ethan has a great eye for the game, and adds a lot to our staff.”
Welcome back to the Valley, Ethan!
Your Wildcats continue to round out their coaching staff, and are looking forward to the offseason ahead, with what’s sure to be an exciting MHL Draft less than 2 weeks away.
