The Maritime Hockey League held its annual QMJHL Supplemental Draft on Monday, June 8th. The Valley Junior A Wildcats made six selections at the draft, acquiring their MHL rights. The Wildcats selected:
William Champagne – Quebec Remparts
Zachary Cardinal – Rouyn-Noranda Huskies
Jaxon Bellamy – Sherbrooke Phoenix
Mathieu Gagnon – Rouyn-Noranda Huskies
Christopher Inniss – Saint John Sea Dogs
Benjamin Corbeil – Blainville Boisbriand Armada
Those six players are currently on QMJHL rosters, but should they eventually move to the MHL, Valley would have their rights. Many players selected in the QMJHL Supplemental Draft never appear in the MHL, but some do (like any draft). Noteable players selected in this draft over the years who did play in the MHL include Spencer Blackwell with the Truro Bearcats, Sullivan Sparkes with the Summerside Western Capitals and Pictou County Weeks Crushers, and of course, Matthew Nosella with the Valley Wildcats.
