The Bage Valley Jr. A Wildcats are excited to announce the acquisition of local forward Hunter Hood from the Chaleur Lightning, along with a 2027 8th-round pick, in exchange for defenseman Marek Dubuc and a 2026 2nd-round pick.
Hood returns to the Valley after spending the past two seasons with the Wildcats U18 program.
During his two seasons with the U18 Wildcats, Hood recorded an impressive 39 goals and 42 assists for 81 points, while adding 94 penalty minutes in 80 games played.
“We are super excited to keep Hunter in the Valley and continue to have him be a part of our Wildcats organization now at the Junior level,” said General Manager and Head Coach Jesse MacLean.
“I’ve been lucky to watch Hunter plenty of times throughout the season and was always impressed with his ability to put the puck in the net, create plays for his teammates, and commit to playing a 200-foot game. To me, Hunter has a very bright future in our league, and I’m excited to have him with us to showcase that.”
Welcome to the Valley, Hunter!
The Valley Wildcats would also like to thank defenseman Marek Dubuc for his dedication to the organization and wish him all the best as he continues his junior career closer to home with Chaleur. We look forward to seeing him at the rink this coming season.
