Wildcats Add Rob Smith To Coaching Staff

The Valley Jr. A Wildcats are excited to announce that Rob Smith has joined our coaching staff in an Assistant Coach and Strength & Conditioning Coach role.
A proud Annapolis Valley native, Rob played his minor hockey with his hometown Bridgetown and capped his career with a Military National Championship while serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. He began coaching right out of high school and has since gained experience across all levels.
He returns to the Wildcats with an additional 15 years of experience, having served as an Assistant Coach for our program during the inaugural NSMBHL (now NSU15MHL) season. His resume includes six seasons as Head Coach of the U16AAA Valley Wildcats, highlighted by multiple championships and bringing the first Monctonian banner back to the Valley.
After taking a season to step back and introduce his son to the game at U7, Rob felt drawn back to competitive coaching. This past season, he completed his High Performance 1 certification while leading the Bedford Blues U13 AAA team, where he also intends to continue as Head Coach for this coming season.
“We are very excited to bring Rob on to our staff for this coming season. To have him work with myself, the coaching staff and the players on the hockey side of things is going to be great, but to also to have him working with the players on the strength & conditioning side of things is a huge bonus for our program. Rob is experienced, passionate and has the drive to continue to grow as a coach every day. All 3 things that will continue to help our team grow toward success here in the Valley.” – Jesse MacLean, Head Coach & Asst. GM.
Welcome to the Valley Rob!
