The Bage Valley Wildcats wrapped up a successful day on Saturday in Truro at the 2024 MHL Entry Draft, adding great talent to an already strong prospect group.
ROUND 2:
13th Overall – Angus Proctor (F)
The 2008-born forward from Halifax, NS is coming off a successful 2023-24 season with the Halifax McDonalds U18 Majors, tallying 29 points in 38 regular season games, as well as 5 points in 13 playoff games. Proctor was selected in the 5th round (82nd overall) in this past QMJHL Draft by the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada
21st Overall – Max Hanley (D)
The Windsor, NS native stays close to home, having played the 2023-24 season with the U18 Wildcats where he put up 9 points in 36 regular season games, along with 3 points in 7 playoff games. The shutdown D-man was selected in the 6th round (98th overall) by the Moncton Wildcats in this past QMJHL Draft.
22nd Overall – Will Cole (G)
What many had ranked as the top goalie available in this years draft, 2008-born goaltender Will Cole had a strong 2023-24 campaign with the Cole Harbour Wolfpack U18 Majors. Cole recorded a 9-12-0 record in 22 starts this regular season, posting an impressive .920 SV % with a 2.92 GAA. Cole is a 6th round pick (105th overall) by the Moncton Wildcats in this past QMJHL Draft.
ROUND 6:
61st Overall – Brody Dawson (F)
The 2008-born forward who hails from Sydney, NS led the Sydney Mitsubishi Rush U18 Majors in rookie scoring, recording 25 points in 38 regular season games played.
64th Overall – Jack Bartlett (D)
The first non-Nova Scotian selected by the Wildcats. The 6’2″ Bartlett, who calls Conception Bay South, Newfoundland home, played this past season in the USHS-Prep league with The Lawrenceville School, tallying 4 points in 25 regular season games.
ROUND 7
83rd Overall – Nolan Fletcher (F)
With another local selection, the Wildcats select Windsor, NS native Nolan Fletcher, who played this past season with the U18 Wildcats in the NSU18MHL. The skilled forward produced 14 points in 33 regular season games this past season, along with 3 points in 7 playoff games.
ROUND 8
85th Overall – Taitt Dobbin (F)
The Wildcats head back to Newfoundland for their 85th selection, picking up Paradises own Taitt Dobbin in the 8th round. The 2008-born forward played this past season with Bishops College U16 & U17 prep teams, tallying an impressive 105 points in a combined 84 regular season games played.
ROUND 9
97th Overall – Carter Cooling (F)
The 2007-born forward from Quispamsis, NB played this past season with Kings Edgehill U18 Prep team, picking up 26 points in 31 regular season games played.
ROUND 10
109th Overall – Mitchell Gould (F)
A teammate of recently drafted Brody Dawson, Gould also comes to the Wildcats from the Sydney Mitsubishi Rush U18 Majors. The Eskasoni First Nation, NS native dressed in 38 regular season games this past season, putting up 17 points, along with 2 points in 3 playoff games.
