The Valley Wildcats U18 program is pleased to announce its coaching staff for the upcoming season, led by returning Head Coach Scott Trask and joined by Assistant Coaches Dylan Manning and Harrison Seaman.
Scott Trask Returns as Head Coach
Returning behind the bench for another season, Scott Trask will continue to lead the Valley Wildcats U18 program as Head Coach.
Originally from Bonavista, Newfoundland, Trask has called the Annapolis Valley home following a successful playing career that included three seasons in the QMJHL with the Moncton Wildcats, four years at Acadia University, and three professional seasons with the Huntsville Havoc of the SPHL. Along the way, he was part of championship-winning teams and leaderships roles at every level.
Now entering his fourth season as a head coach within the Wildcats organization, Trask previously spent three seasons leading the U15 Wildcats, guiding the team to the NSU15MHL Provincial Finals. His commitment to player development and building a strong team culture has helped establish a strong foundation within the program.
Dylan Manning Joins the Staff as Assistant Coach
Joining Trask behind the bench is Dylan Manning, a true product of the Valley Wildcats organization.
A native of Greenwich, Nova Scotia, Manning progressed through every level of the Wildcats program from Bantam to Junior A. A respected leader throughout his playing career, he served as captain of both the U18 and Junior A Wildcats before concluding his playing career with the Windsor Oxen.
Manning’s impact extended well beyond the ice. He earned the Outstanding Academic and Community Award in 2019-20, received back-to-back Community Spirit Awards in 2022-23 and 2023-24, and was voted both Fans’ Choice and Players’ Player in his final season. Away from hockey, Manning coaches with the Kings Special Olympics Basketball program and will lead his team at the National Championships this summer.
Away from the rink, Manning continues to make a difference through coaching with the Kings Special Olympics Basketball program. His dedication to developing athletes and creating positive experiences has helped lead his team to a National Championship berth this summer.
The Valley Wildcats U18 program is excited to welcome Dylan behind the bench and looks forward to the passion, leadership, and experience he will bring to our players and staff.
Harrison Seaman Named Assistant Coach
The Wildcats are also pleased to welcome Harrison Seaman to the coaching staff.
A former Valley Wildcats Major Bantam player, Seaman went on to play three seasons with the NKEC Titans, serving as captain for two years. In 2022, he was recognized as both Defence of the Year and Player of the Year after helping lead the Titans to the Provincial Finals.
Following his playing career, Seaman spent four seasons as an Assistant Coach with the Titans, helping the program capture two Fred G. Kelly Tournament titles, two Art Lightfoot Tournament championships, two Regional Championships, and the 2025 Provincial Championship. Most recently, he served as Video Coach with the Valley Wildcats U18 program, contributing through video analysis and player evaluation.
Seaman brings a player’s perspective, championship experience, and a detail-oriented approach to coaching.
