Valley Acquires Meunier and Roger from Portage Terriers for Futures
BERWICK, NOVA SCOTIA – The Valley Wildcats, proud member of the Maritime Hockey League, announced last night they have traded future considerations to the Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League for 19-year-old forwards Felix Meunier and Tommy Roger.
Meunier has split this season between the Terriers and the Whitecourt Wolverines of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, scoring three points in five games between both teams. The Sherbrooke, Que. native has previously seen action in 74 games with the Victoriaville Tigres and Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Roger also skated with the Terriers and Wolverines this year, collecting five points in five games. A native of Ascot Corner, Que., Roger spent last season in South Florida playing with the Palm Beach Hawks of the United States Premier Hockey League, collecting 75 points in 43 games.
“Both of these players possess explosive scoring ability,” said Wildcats G.M. Nick Greenough. “We were in desperate need of offense and these two should be able to provide it. We’re really putting a big push on to make the playoffs this year and will do whatever it takes to get there.”
The Wildcats travel to Amherst to play the Ramblers Saturday at 7 p.m.
