Wildcats Trade for Veteran Goaltender
Valley Acquires Liam MacDonald from Grand Falls for Future Considerations
BERWICK, NOVA SCOTIA – The Valley Wildcats, proud member of the Maritime Hockey League, announced today they have acquired goaltender Liam MacDonald from the Grand Falls Rapids for future considerations.
The Sydney, Nova Scotia native spent the past two seasons with the Woodstock Slammers, who relocated to Grand Falls in the off-season. Last year, MacDonald posted a 3.83 goals-against average and an .890 save percentage in 22 games and sported 3.14 and .910 numbers in 37 outings in 2016-17.
“With Cole McLaren moving on to the Halifax Mooseheads we felt we needed to acquire a veteran goaltender, so we feel fortunate to get someone of Liam’s caliber,” said Wildcats G.M. Nick Greenough. “Liam’s excited as well and this trade enables him to take some courses at Acadia University this year.”
MacDonald will report to the Wildcats on Tuesday.
