NEWS: U18 Wildcats Name Coaching Staff for 2025-26 Season

The Bage Valley Wildcats U18 Majors are pleased to announce their coaching staff for the 2025-26 season.

Hailing from Bonavista Newfoundland, Newly named Head Coach Scott Trask has found a home in the Valley, after a 3-year QMJHL playing career with the Moncton Wildcats, followed by a 4-year career at Acadia University, and wrapping up his playing days spending 3 seasons with the Huntsville Havoc of the SPHL, winning league championships at each level.

Trask has been coaching for 6 years, recently spending the past 3 seasons as Head Coach of the U15 Wildcats, most recently leading them to a birth in the NSU15MHL Provincial Finals.

Returning to the U18 Wildcats staff is Assistant Coach Lukas Kane. Kane, who jumped into coaching after a 7-year playing career, all of which in a Wildcats uniform, has spent the past 7 seasons behind the bench of the U18 Wildcats team, working primarily with the defensive group.

Finally, rounding out the coaching staff is newly named Assistant Coach Shawn Boudreau.

Boudreau joins the U18 Wildcats after spending the past two seasons alongside Trask with the U15 Wildcats, primarily working with the forward group. Boudreau is also a Wildcat alumni, playing U18 hockey with the Wildcats from 2009-2011 before a 4 year Jr. A career, followed by a 3 year USports career.

The staff is already hard at work preparing for the season ahead, along with the upcoming U18 Major Spring ID Camp, happening May 16-25 at Acadia University. Stay tuned for registration opening soon!

We’d like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Travis Young for his time, effort and dedication to the both the U18 program, and the Wildcats organization the past three seasons, as well as Tyler Curnew for his time spent last season with the U18 Wildcats team.
