The Valley Wildcats Hockey Organization is excited to announce that Travis Young has taken on the role of Director of Player Development.
Young, who was previously Head Coach of the Kings Mutual Under 15 Major Wildcats team, will take on the new role to oversee individual player development at all three levels. He will be working closely with the coaching staff with the U15, U18 and U21 Wildcats.
Valley Wildcats General Manager, Brandon Benedict, says “Travis has a wealth of hockey knowledge, and is a true asset to our program.” Young is also a former Head Coach of the U21 Valley Wildcats.
With Young taking on his new Director of Player Development role, the Wildcats also have a new Head Coach for the Kings Mutual U15 team. Gregg Riley will take on the Head Coaching role with the U15 team.
Riley has long been involved with hockey in the Annapolis Valley, and spent the last season as an Assistant Coach with the U21 Wildcats.
“Gregg has tremendous passion for the game,” says Benedict. “Having worked with his last season at the U21 level, I know the great hockey knowledge he brings. It’s exactly what we need at the U15 level.”
